Radio Telecommunication Centre of Civil Aviation RADTELCOM (Moscow) and AC-B GmbH continue their successful cooperation on the way of migrating the Moscow COM centre to the Aeronautical Message Handling System (AMHS).
End of 2009, RADTELCOM and AC-B had jointly performed a test session with the new AMHS system at Moscow COM centre. The new system had successfully passed all AMHS conformance tests according to the standardized tests defined in EUR AMHS Manual, Appendix D. December 2010, RADTELCOM integrated the AMHS Test Tool supplied by AC-B GmbH into its test environment to have the capability to perform regression tests and future conformance tests in an autonomous way.
With the integrated test tool the AMHS test environment at Moscow COM centre is equipped not only with the conformance tests standardized in the EUR AMHS Manual, which mainly focus on the verification of the AFTN/AMHS gateway capabilities. In addition, AC-B prepared for RADTELCOM a set of supplementary test procedures that verify AMHS submission, transfer and delivery operations. The two supplied test sets provide wide AMHS test coverage and support automated testing in an efficient manner.
Parallel to their AMHS project activities RADTELCOM granted its engineers extensive AMHS training. RADTELCOM engineers were prepared gradually to the new tasks at Moscow COM centre. In an earlier stage of their AMHS project, employees participated in the basic AMHS training course held at AC-B GmbH in Markdorf/Germany. Now, in order to perform all necessary test sessions on their own, they received special training in AMHS testing and a practical guidance for the operation of the AMHS Test Tool.
Today, RADTELCOM has established the best conditions to migrate the Moscow COM centre to the AMHS. A highly qualified team and a very well equipped test environment ensures that the future AMHS migration steps, i.e. AMHS interoperability tests and establishment of new international AMHS links, can successfully be performed.
